The golf swing trigger was undoubtedly a breakthrough in my golf game. Allowing myself to become mentally prepared for a golf shot was certainly a golf swing aid that I would have never have thought to be that profound. But getting in the right frame of mind before a golf shot is only the first step in becoming a better golfer.

As most people focus on ways to hit the ball farther, I concentrated more on my swing mechanics. Which eventually (and over lots of time) allowed me to hit the ball straighter and further down the fairway. I found that I did not have to swing as hard to increase my distance off the tee. "Letting the club do the work" was another important lesson that I learned well into the latter stages of my meager golf career.

Hip rotation, and the golf swing plane were my two biggest obstacles. The club should be parallel to the ground at the top of your backswing. After taping my swing, I was shocked to find that my club was well past parallel, and almost pointing straight at the ground.

Hip rotation was the cause of my slice, plain and simple. I was cutting my hips as I hit the ball, which forced the club face open at contact; putting unnecessary spin on the ball that caused it to slice to the right. Learning proper mechanics and hip rotation solved this problem for me... for the most part.

I approach every shot on the practice range as if it were a real shot. Lining up my shot, taking deep breaths, and using my trigger to get in the proper frame of mind. Practicing in this fashion has helped me incorporate the proper golf swing while I am out on the course.
